Project Description:
Air Bearings are two machine ele-ments moving against each other and separated by a thin air film (few µm) with nearly frictionless move-ments.
There are dynamic bearings which build up the air film by movement and static bearings which require compressed air.
Aerostatic/-dynamic bearings are mainly used in precision machines (measuring and machining) and rapid working machines (e.g. high speed spindles).
Dr. Langenbeck has developed a new aerostatic bearing with a series of new technical highlights which common air beaing do not have in this combination.
DIAMANT has formulated a new mouldable low friction wayliner with extremely precise moulding proper-ties giving also emergency dry running to the bearing similar to Teflon but wear resistant like steel.
The first "AirPucks" bearings are now 'new-way-produced' at ESS with the expected high precision and will soon be produced by IGIT partners in India for use all over Far East.
The global marketing is done by IGIT-IGO for the Far East and by ExportUNIon for the Western Hemisphere.
